Spanish Coffee Recipe

So, I get asked a lot, "How do you make a Spanish Coffee the correct way?".  Well, there are so many variations, and everyone might have their preference on taste, but there are a few essential components to this wonderful drink, and once you follow these general guidelines, you can experiment which different variations depending on what you have available.

The general make-up of a Spanish Coffee is as follows:
  • 1oz  Rum
  • 1.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (Kahlua, Tia Maria, etc.)
  • 0.5 oz Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, etc.)
  • Coffee
  • Whipped Cream (hand made is ideal)
  • Sugared Rim (Preferable caramelized)

With those guidelines in mind, you can get quite creative with how you make one!  Every Spanish Coffee I've ever had has been completely different, and in their own unique ways.
